Crack-ED, part of the CarDekho Group, is an educational platform to enhance employability in India, particularly in Tier 2 and 3 cities. It offers a variety of programs focusing on upskilling through soft skills, life skills, and value-added skills. The platform provides mentor-led, activity-based learning and guarantees job placements in various corporate sectors. Crack-ED emphasizes real-world applications, community building, and providing comprehensive support from skill acquisition to job preparation and placement.

The earlier website of Crack-ED was not able to deliver the whole mission behind the start-up, the upskilling courses (Value Added Courses, Professional Development, and Leadership Courses) offered by the team, the 500+ colleges (for ex: IIM Rohtak; IIM Bangalore; IIT, Delhi; St.Pious X, Hyderabad; SPJIMR, Mumbai) and 120+ corporates (for ex: Wipro, Tromenz Learning, Lenskart, Ruppy, Club Mahindra, UpGrad, HDFC, InsuranceDekho) they have worked with and working with, the success stories and the hiring campaigns by the company.

As a UX/UI designer, I was responsible for meeting the business end of Crack-ED, highlighting the Unique Selling Points (USPs), the courses, and the testimonials through design.

The process of designing the entire website was highly iterative. Initially, I had a detailed discussion with the team lead to decide on the website's flow, content requirements, and presentation. We meticulously planned what needed to be included, how it should be presented, and which courses would be featured.&nbsp;

Each page was carefully designed with the user flow in mind. For example, on the 'College Programs' page, we crafted a well-structured pitch for the user that includes the following elements:

On average, it took me 5-6 design iterations to achieve the optimal result. With each iteration, the design improved, driving me to innovate further and ultimately creating the best possible designs.

 Innovative UX Transformation for Crack-ED

Fery Rides is a two-wheeler mobility solution for women, by women. Fery, believes in a world where women can move freely, confidently, and sustainably within their cities. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to empower women with safe, reliable, and eco-friendly transportation. What are their USP's?

After testing the website's new design, we saw a significant improvement in user engagement and satisfaction. Users found the new design modern and a website which was cleaner &amp; informative in its presentation.

The website design was meticulously crafted, supported by thorough user research and a comprehensive analysis of competitor websites. During the building of the concept of the website, the following thoughts were taken into consideration.

Step 1: Understanding the target audience

Before proceeding with the website, it's crucial to grasp what users expect upon landing. With two primary audiences in mind:

✅ For Users: Convey Fery's mission, vision, functionality, services, and user benefits.

✅ For Investors: Showcase key metrics like completed rides, customer satisfaction, retention rates, serviced areas, and plans to elucidate the investment potential in Fery.

The next step was to perform a comprehensive analysis of the websites of the competitors to understand the market trends.

After a comprehensive competitive analysis, the next step was to form a flow of the website, the sectional flow of the website, the navigation, and the required CTA's.

This project was a valuable learning experience. It provided valuable insights into how optimizing user experience can drive business outcomes and effectively showcase the unique selling points of the businesses.&nbsp;The introduction of storytelling elements and a visual animation that created a digital story of Fery Rides was a novel approach that proved to be very effective.

Driving business outcomes through UX

Programming Patshala (PPA) is an ed-tech company, that has taught over 19,000+ students since its inception. PPA offers several tech courses for Coding, DSA, Competitive Programming, Low-Level Design, Concurrency, and, Python. However, the web page designs were not that effective. Our aim was to improve the webpage designs, focusing on enhancing engagement, clarity, and simplicity, all while ensuring a better user experience (UX).

We were a team of 3 Designers and 1 PM. To foster collaboration and efficiency, we implemented various steps to maximize our potential.

We conducted a thorough analysis of websites within the same domain, gaining insights into their navigational flow and user experience. The flow we came down to was:

After deciding on the flow of the website, the next step was wireframing. We three designers curated individual wireframes of each section, and the best was taken out of them. Craft

Designing course landing pages to enhance user engagement

Translead Medtech Private Limited is a start-up aimed to address the issues faced by elderly people and it is a deep-tech spin-off from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru.

Translead Medtech Pvt. Ltd., a healthcare start-up based out of Banglore, wanted a website which could clearly state the mission of the start-up, the product and the team behind this visionary product.

Step 1: Understanding the needs of the client

The initial step involved scheduling a call with the startup to gain a comprehensive understanding of their product, current activities, stage of development, and objectives for the website. This helped establish a solid foundation for further collaboration and ensured alignment with their goals and vision. Some of the goals were:

Following an in-depth examination of existing healthcare websites and a thorough comprehension of the client's requirements, wireframes were meticulously crafted. These wireframes served as a blueprint for discussions on user navigation, delineation of website sections, and presentation styles. This approach facilitated a clear visualization of the website's structure and functionality, ensuring alignment with the client's expectations and user needs.

The user interface design of the website underwent 3 to 4 iterations, each iteration incorporating strategic changes to align with both the business requirements and design standards. These iterative refinements ensured that the final design effectively addressed the needs of the business while adhering to established design principles.

Being the first gig in this domain, it was quite a rollercoaster but a valuable learning experience. This gave me an idea of how to make sure that you have the client's requirements right, how to make sure that you and the client are on the same page, what are industry standards and how to make sure that the website follows the brand guidelines.

Designing for a start-up to make a digital presence

The purpose behind designing the product is to create a comprehensive and user-friendly SaaS platform tailored specifically for Training and Placement Officers (TPOs) and students. This platform aims to streamline the management of placement training programs conducted by Programming Patshala Academy (PPA), providing efficient tools for both TPOs and students to track, manage, and enhance their training and placement activities.

The design process prioritized understanding the product's stakeholders: their needs, goals, and desired outcomes. This user-centric approach ensured the product addressed real problems and delivered value. By carefully considering existing competitors, the design aimed to surpass them in functionality, usability, and other key areas.

Before proceeding with the product, it's crucial to grasp what users expect upon landing. With two primary audiences in mind:

✅ For TPOs

The next step was to perform a comprehensive analysis of the competitors' websites to understand the market trends. Some companies are not direct competitors but have similar products in this space.

After jotting the product outcomes and performing a comprehensive analysis of the products in the existing market, we did user interviews to achieve the following:

Step 4: Writing down the Product Description

Armed with insights from user research and market analysis, I documented a comprehensive product description. This detailed not only the core features but also the onboarding experience, key dashboard metrics, and student reports metrics.

After writing the product description, wireframes of the TPO module were designed. Feedback was taken on the wireframes from all the stakeholders.

After the wireframes were designed, they were converted to high-fidelity prototypes considering the design system followed by PPA.&nbsp;

Due to confidentiality agreements (NDA), I can't disclose the entire prototype. However, I can discuss some of the system's key features at a high level.

This project was a valuable learning experience. It provided valuable insights into how&nbsp;optimizing user experience can drive business outcomes, the need to understand both the business and design needs, understand what metrics to involve while designing a SaaS product, and, communication and collaboration.
